I'm so glad we decided not to retire in AK but miss it and everyone still. We love the hot days and long hot summer nights. We've gotten out and done more things here in a month than we did all of last year. There's so much to do, placed to go, yadayada. Maybe it's because we're from here - something about just being home. We're almost settled. Getting a few pictures up. Finally got my car in the garage but it will be a while before we get Michael's pick up in. They made it to Prince George by 6/30/07. The tarp on their boat disintegrated. They saw more bears than they could count. They stayed at the Lakeview suites in Fort Nelson, and then the Sheraton in Prince George. The stretch between Tok and Whitehorse was a bit rough what with frost heaves, construction and broken pavement. They will be continuing onto Gig Harbor by 7/2/07. Encounters with flesh eating flying insects are detracting from their concentration. Temperatures are in the 70's which is more than warm enough for the wearing of shorts in contrast with the tourists who are dressed for -40 F.
